Things to do with Hamburger
Ground Beef is one of a Mother’s best friends! I have always kept some browned hamburger in the freezer for use in various dishes. Just brown one pound of the ground beef and put it a plastic container or zipper bag—use it as needed: if a recipe calls for 2 pounds of browned hamburger, just grab two packages.
Use the browned meat in gravy—pour over mashed potatoes for a main dish. It’s easy to add to spaghetti sauce, and of course any of the pre-packaged noodle-helper type meals.

Hamburger Casserole
2 lbs. ground beef
5 medium potatoes
1 large onion, chopped
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
Peel the potatoes, cut in to small pieces and boil until nearly done. Cook onion and meat until brown. Drain off excess fat. In a 9 x 13" sprayed casserole dish, layer potatoes and then meat. Spread the mushroom soup on top of the meat mixture. Sprinkle cheese on top.
Cook 30 minutes in a 300º oven or until cheese is melted and casserole is bubbly.
This is great served with a side of green beans or peas or a garden salad and some crusty bread.
Burrito Bake

Grease pie plate. Mix Baking Mix with water and refried beans; spread in prepared pie plate. Add, in order, ground beef, thick salsa, and cheese. Bake for 30 minutes at 375°. Serve with sour cream and chopped green onions and tomatoes, if desired.
