Basic Holiday Manners for Children
(ages 10-13): Saturday December 13 1pm-3pm. (also April 25)
Going to Aunt Tillie’s for the Holidays? Are you worried how Junior and your little Princess will react when Cousin Charlotte gives them her usual handmade mittens? Will they be able to ask Uncle Harvey to pass the butter properly? Do they know the difference between eating at “Fast Burger” and a nice sit-down meal with the entire family? Our own Granny Green gathers the children around for a few timely pointers on “Company Manners.” Each participating child will receive a personalized certificate of completion and booklet outlining the manners and lessons presented in the program.
Polite is Important
The first part explains why good manners important and how good manners can make each child more popular and have more successful relationships with friends, family and teachers.
How to behave appropriately as a guest may make the difference as to whether you are invited back. Also included is a section on how to make introductions.
Invitations and Thank You Notes
How to respond to invitations (just what is RSVP anyway?); how to write thank you notes.
The Holiday Dinner
Children learn about table manners and etiquette. They learn to navigate a Holiday table setting and dining experience with confidence. There is a table manners quiz, an overview of the place setting, pointers on how to eat tricky foods and tips on being a good guest.
